Photography came into my life at a time when I felt deeply disconnected from my artistic channel of expression. It had always been a tool I felt close to, yet I had never given myself the chance to affirm myself enough to stand within the uncertainty of being a beginner.
Everything I’ve learned has been very intuitive. It’s been a journey of letting my eye lead the way and searching for answers as the need for them arises. Creating through photography has given a refreshing structure to my bodily language, and it’s become another channel for expression. There’s something very direct between her and me—I’ve allowed myself to create simply because it feels natural. There’s a constant instinct to play, to converse. She holds me, and I hold her too.
I am, and always will be, a dancer with a camera. Photography is just one more accessory in my way of communicating movement and surrendering to it. With deep respect for all those who walk this path of photography, it’s an immense honor for me to be close to such a revealing and honest art form.
